Gallery 9 Being Green Show

To celebrate Earth Day and being green, Gallery 9, put on this lovely show. There was a wide variety of work. My entry is the flower in the middle of the top photo. My piece was among some really nice works of art. A generous portion of all show sales will go to Massachusetts Audubon Visual Arts Center in Canton. This is the last show before the Gallery and Frame shop move to a new location in Norwood.

Being Green's show reception is tomorrow, Friday, April 24th from 5-7pm.

We'd love for you to come and look at the submissions from local artists. A generous portion of all show sales will go to the Massachusetts Audubon Visual Arts Center in Canton. What a great cause in celebration of all things GREEN and Earth Day.

Also, please keep checking in for more details about the BIG MOVE to the new location. We're aiming for May 18th. Lots of good things are happening. We're looking forward to showing you all the wonderful new spot!

As for Grand Openings in the new shop, we're not sure when that will be but we'll surely have a big shindig at some point. Right now our focus is on getting opened.

Finally! Here is the list of those accepted to the "Being Green" art show. I sincerely apologize for the delay in posting this as I know many of you are curious and rightly so.

Friday and all day Saturday I had a nasty bout of a stomach bug---and you can imagine what that is like for someone 6 months pregnant with a nearly two year old running around. Thank goodness it was a weekend and my husband was around for a bunch of the day to help.

Being Green submission deadline

The deadline for submissions to the "Being Green" open call juried art show is 7pm this Friday, April 3rd.

We've received lovely submissions and are excited to put on our final show in our old space.

We hope you will participate if you're an artist and come by for our show's opening reception if you like art.

Fabulous things await everyone at this show, perfectly timed for Earth Day!

It ain't easy being green

You all know this song, right? "It ain't easy, being green." And on Kermit would sing and eventually our little Muppet friend would come to terms with his individuality and even like it!
The word "green" now has other connotations. The environment has become a major concern and green is everywhere! Custom Art Framing even carries a new line of earth-friendly eco-frames that are made to green standards. (Pretty neat, huh?)

On the heels of last year's show where we asked everyone to finish the phrase, "Life is a bowl of..." which was such fun, we're asking all artists to interpret the phrase "Being Green" in any way they'd like for a show we'll be having this spring. (Ah to think of spring makes me so happy!) You'll find more information about it here.

Please let other artist friends know about this wonderful event. We'll be working to get the word out, too!
