Gallery 9 has exciting things planned for 2009 (and I know you're not surprised by this). Part of our gallery schedule, though, has openings for new artists.

It ain't easy being green

You all know this song, right? "It ain't easy, being green." And on Kermit would sing and eventually our little Muppet friend would come to terms with his individuality and even like it!
The word "green" now has other connotations. The environment has become a major concern and green is everywhere! Custom Art Framing even carries a new line of earth-friendly eco-frames that are made to green standards. (Pretty neat, huh?)

On the heels of last year's show where we asked everyone to finish the phrase, "Life is a bowl of..." which was such fun, we're asking all artists to interpret the phrase "Being Green" in any way they'd like for a show we'll be having this spring. (Ah to think of spring makes me so happy!) You'll find more information about it here.

Please let other artist friends know about this wonderful event. We'll be working to get the word out, too!

In Thursday's paper

The reporter, Krystal Grow, of The Norwood Record informed us that the story about our gallery show, Life is a Bowl, will run next week.

Be sure to look at the paper on Thursday, August 7th for the scoop (and a photo of us in the gallery!)

We're meeting lots of artists who are bringing in submissions and telling us their thoughts about what they'll be submitting. It'll be quite a great event, surely!

Gallery news

Now that we have our first show of the season behind us (and it was successful thanks to our customers--thank you) we have been working on the next series of our "to do" list which includes more live paint events, first Fridays at the gallery, a sidewalk sale, and much more.

Good news, too! Our artists are busy working to fill in where pieces have sold. Also, we're still actively accepting new artists and new work. Last week we met with an in-house artist who had been with Custom Art Framing before, Judy Hazilla McGinn.

Judy came to our show and loved the improvements we've made. We're delighted that we'll be showing her work again and have some exciting new pieces.
