TIP

There are many different ways of hanging and displaying art room by room, and it is advisable to sit or stand where you will most often be when deciding on which wall to hang a particular piece or at what height. In the case of a dining room, for example, remember that you will be usually seated and that the light will most likely be dim (consider picture lights). In the bathroom, note what you can see while soaking in a tub or brushing your teeth. By giving some good thought to positioning your pictures, you will be more likely to achieve an effective display and to gain greater enjoyment from living with your art.

And---generally the biggest mistake people make is hanging their framed work too high.

It's better not to center a piece on the wall between the top of your sofa and the ceiling. Instead hang your piece in relation to your sofa!
