Live painting :: Cindy Kerr ::

Last Friday we had Cindy Kerr in the gallery working in one of her mediums, pastels.

Cindy also works in oils. We have a series of her oils for sale in the gallery. I have posted them here for you to see on the left side of this post.

I like this photo because you can see her work hanging on the wall to her left.

Our lighting isn't optimal, but she worked diligently with her pastels and went to town.

Those who stopped in were able to peek at her process from start to finish.
Cindy started two pieces and finished one.

The finished piece she framed with us. How kind! Can't wait to see it ready to hang.

Live Painting :: Frank Quinn

As we have done for many months now, this Friday we're having a LIVE PAINTING event.

At 3pm Frank Quinn will be in the gallery demonstrating his talents. We're delighted to have him with us.

Stop in if you can. His work is great, he's fun to talk with and quite entertaining.

Hope to see you!

Live Painting :: Photos

It was such a treat to witness the magic that is Ann Gorbett and her palette knife. I love the smell of oil paints in the late afternoon!

She worked from a small family photograph.

These Friday night live painting shows are fast becoming my favorites.

Our next scheduled live painting is on Friday, October 17th featuring our own Kim Morin Weineck. Please stop by and witness some fantastic artwork in the making!

Live Painting :: Ann Gorbett

This Friday, September 19th, we'll have our in house artist, Ann Gorbett, in the gallery for Live Painting from 3-6pm.

Ann Gorbett, Life is a bowl of Mashed Potatoes, original oil 2008

Ann Gorbett's work is, simply put, FABULOUS! She creates wonderful original oils from such sundry references as a trip to Martha's Vineyard or her father's album of 50's snapshots.

Intriguing? Well, it should be even more so when I tell you that she does it all with only her lush oil paints and a palette knife. (Am I kidding? No! I'm serious!)

So come by from 3-6pm and see for yourself how this palette knife wielding master plies her art. It's something else to see!

(To see more Ann, check out the video at the side of our blog and she will tell you all about her work.)
