Moving to Monday Nights
Here is the nitty-gritty:
Monday evenings, 7-9pm
You can sign up for one class, a 'onesie' for $30
or sign up for a series of four classes, a 'foursie' for $100.
With a 'foursie' you must take the four classes over five consecutive weeks. This way you get one free absence during your paid four-class session.
All supplies are provided by the student.
The format is 'open studio' with all students working on their own projects within a group setting.
Be as structured or as loose as you'd like. I'd be more than happy to develop a curriculum with you for your sessions in class.
Open Enrollment: Start any time you are ready! How much fun is that?
Class is always running. Check the gallery blog for cancellations.
If you're still on the fence, stop in during a class. Check out what's going on. I want you to be comfortable about taking a class with me.
Any questions? Email me at kimweineck@gmail.com
Thanks!

Classes offered at the gallery
If you've always wondered if you could cultivate the artistic talent you suspected you had, we have a class for you!
If you're an adult professional artist looking to get out of your studio and find some support and specified painting time, we can help!
If your child has expressed an interest in art or you've been told that there is a keen talent there, we can help you, too!
Like Photography? You guessed it! We've got that covered.
Have you always wanted to do some hands-on framing? You bet! We have workshops for that, too!
Check our website here for information on our great classes.
Hope we can see you soon.

Tuesday art class
This is a beautiful close up of Lubov's painting--look at the depth--all with oil pastels. Gorgeous.
I love this photo of her working away. Photos with art supplies always make me happy. How wonderful that painting looks on her black paper. (See her free Starbucks tea because she voted? Well done, Lubov!)
Custom Art Framing's own Julie has had a hankering to try her hand at some creative artwork for a while. Since I started working at the gallery in January, I've heard her hinting a bit at this bubbling creativity wanting to come out in some way.Yesterday when I invited her to stay for lesson and try her hand at my pastels, she said she would give it a shot.
Here is how her first try at the medium went:
Pastels are fun and get your hands dirty. You can see that Julie was having fun while she cleans up.
I think it came out great. Her first pastel ever! Can't wait to see it framed up.
And to finish, I took a quick video during class with my camera. Here is a 30-second overview of our class setup. You'll agree we have a great classroom at Custom Art Framing & Gallery 9, have a lot of fun at class, and that I do love the look of art supplies.More information on classes at the gallery can be found here. We'd love to see you at any of the classes we offer if you've had a hankering to give it a try.

Art classes for adults
These are some photos from this past Tuesday's class.
Alice has been working in pastel--both oil and chalk---and refining her technique.
Here Alice and Hana work diligently on their pieces. The time flies by during class. Before it seems we've been at it for five minutes, I'm announcing that class only has 15 minutes to go!And look at this photo!
Do you think my student drew a chair?
It's not really as it seems. When I took out my camera, she jokingly put her pencil in her instruction book so it would seem that the drawing was hers. What a riot! We were just having some fun. I think the photo is pretty convincing, don't you?

What fun we had!

Art classes
Not only do we offer CHILDREN'S CLASSES on Saturday mornings, we also have ADULT ART CLASSES on Monday afternoons as well as on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
Interested in Photography? Yes! We have PHOTOGRAPHY CLASSES that we run on Thursday evenings with Ed Malitsky. People rave about his class.
And for those interested in framing, yes, WE TEACH FRAMING! Julie has wonderful workshops on Wednesday nights.
Please stop in and see what we're doing during scheduled class time, look at our website for more information, or call. We'll be glad to answer any question you may have.
Hope we see you at a class soon!

Two small changes at the shop
First, our hours have changed.
We're now open:
Monday 10-4
Tuesday-Friday 11-7
Saturday 10-4
Closed on Sunday.
Of course we can always be open by appointment.
These hours permit us to tap into some corporate and designer clients and offer consultations. The extra time in the morning will also give some additional time to complete your framing orders. (Yay!)
We welcome your feedback on this. It's something we're trying out.
Second, we've added an art class which starts tonight, Tuesday. From 7-9 Kim Morin Weineck will teach an open studio class to adults. Need time to decompress? Come at 6:30 to set up and get ready. What fun this class is going to be.
More information on our classes can be found here.
Looking forward to seeing you at the gallery!
